Renewing Your Policy with the Same or New Co-Tenants

To renew with the same or new co-tenant, respond to our renewal survey, which is sent as your lease expiration approaches. For new co-tenants, send us their full names and emails.

Renewing your Rent and/or Deposit Coverage with a roommate or multiple roommates is a simple process that can be initiated in one of three ways.

  1. Reply to our renewal survey. The survey is sent as your lease expiration approaches and includes several questions that allow us to understand whether you plan to renew your lease with your current building, intend to stay in your current unit, and plan to live with the same roommates in the future. 

    If you answered ‘Yes’ to "Are you renewing with the same roommates," there is no further action required, as we already have the relevant information of your roommate(s). 

    However, if you answered ‘No’ to "Are you renewing with the same roommates as last year," we will email you requesting the full legal name and email of your new co-tenant(s) so that we can send them a sign-up link and attach them to your application. This step is required to process your renewal.

  2. If you are renewing with any new co-tenants, contact us by texting SUPPORT to +1 929-556-6810*. Then, type "Update leaseholders." You will be asked to provide the full legal name(s) and email address(es) of the new co-tenant(s) so that we can send them a sign-up link for our services and connect them to your application. If you are renewing with the same co-tenant(s) as last year, no further action is needed. 

  3. Have the new co-tenant(s) register via our service sign-up link. Once they have completed this step, they should notify us that they have completed the sign-up process. Additionally, they should also provide your full legal name and email address so that we can link them to your application. 

Please note that any previous co-tenants who will not be renewing with you on the new lease are advised to inform us of their housing plans. This will allow us to assist them with their Rent and/or Deposit Coverage at their new building. Alternatively, if they decide they do not require our services in the future, it will allow us to halt communications with them. They can notify us by texting SUPPORT to +1 929-556-6810,* then typing "Renew my coverage."
