What does Renters Insurance cover?

Renters Insurance covers personal property, personal liability, and medical payments for injuries on the rented property.

Renters insurance includes a variety of standard and optional coverages. Including:

Personal Property

That means your stuff. All of it. Including furniture, clothing, cookware, dishes, electronic devices, and the rug that really ties the room together. It also covers replacement costs. So if, for example, a pipe bursts and wrecks your brand new sectional, we’ll cover the cost to replace it at the time of the loss, without deduction for depreciation. Just note that we won’t pay more than the amount required to repair the covered property.

Personal Liability

Accidents happen. And when they do, it’s best to have Liability Coverage. It protects you—and whoever else is on the policy—in the event of negligent damage to your apartment, the community, or another resident. What’s more? This coverage may help protect you from paying out of pocket for certain costs if you are found legally responsible for injuries to other people or damage to their property.

Medical Payments

If someone is injured on the property you rent and seeks medical attention, this coverage will pay for medical treatment.
